Background

Daile (Iris) Zeng grew up in Wuhan, a city renowned for its many lakes and the majestic Yangtze River. She developed a strong connection to nature and later embarked on an academic journey at UBC, where she earned an undergraduate degree in natural resources conservation. She also obtained her MSc degree at the Faculty of Forestry, where she examined the effectiveness of planning and management strategies in improving biophysical and socioeconomic conditions at the watershed level. Daile is now a PhD student. Her research focuses on integrated watershed management under climate change by tracing carbon flows and exploring non-regulatory environmental policy instruments. She also has a deep passion for artwork and environmental photography, particularly landscapes and architecture.
